Deepfakes, shadow AI and LLM misuse were growing concerns, while AI threat detection, malware analysis and vulnerability research showed promise for cyber defenders. Video deepfakes that use AI to create lifelike imitations of individuals’ faces have been leveraged to manipulate not only unsuspecting human victims but also biometric identity verification systems, making them an attractive and dangerous tool for fraudsters.
