New Zealand First Introduces Bill To Protect Against ‘Digital ID’ Overreach

New Zealand First has today introduced a Member’s Bill that would ensure physical identification remains a valid and equal alternative to fully digital identification. The Identification (Protection of Physical Identification Methods) Bill mandates that organisations accept passports, driver licences, 18+ cards, school IDs, and other prescribed physical documents whenever proof of age or identity is required.
